Heroes Season 1 Anticlimax
I expected more of my favourite show. All season has been building up to something exciting, huge, um, climactic.
But instead it was none of that, more like a slap across the chops with a moist pancake.
Surprising, but not in a good way.
OK, I can’t post spoilers because I know there are people who haven’t seen it; BBC2 is about to start showing season 1 on terrestrial television soon.
What can I say?
- If you are going to build up characters into multi-powered superhumans we want to see those powers in action.
- A twist isn’t a twist if you telegraph it for half a season
- I feel like there were a couple of niggling plot threads left over
- WTF was all the bit with Peter going back in time (or not) for? It had no connection to what happened AT ALL
- The conclusion seems like some random throwaway plot solution dashed out before the writers left for the pub
- What should have been extremely moving instead turned out to be just illogical and disappointing.
Of course all that said, I will be looking forward to season 2. No doubt we will get it on these shores by around, what, 2020? ;)
